I didn’t have a chance to blog before and now we are on our way home!

Hello Everyone,

I didn’t have a chance to blog before and now we are on our way home! It’s amazing how the days have flown by. We have had a remarkable time. All you parents should be very proud as your sons were great travelers. They were able to adapt to our itinerary even with a few changes, they were avid participators at all venues, they were polite and well spoken and they were able to keep up with the fast pace Mrs. Perez set. We had an extremely busy schedule, we saw many wonderful and interesting things, we covered a lot of ground (the majority on foot!), and we had very long days, up and out early and not back to the hotel till late in the evening. All in all they were a great group, and a wonderful reflection of you parents, St John Bosco and Mrs. Perez-Gerhart. I would gladly travel with them again, and again.

All the boys must be doing great in their Art History class since they had a huge store of knowledge and interest in the art and architecture that we saw. Over and over again the tour guides were impressed with the boys knowledge and insight. They actually knew what they were looking at and how to appreciate it! They were also a big help to me, I was able to see things through their eyes, and they were always willing to explain to me what I was looking at, and it’s significance in the art world.

I’m sure they all had an awesome time in Chicago. Now they are very tired but excited to be heading home. Personally I’m exhausted and my feet HURT, but I would gladly do it again.

Thank you St. John Bosco High School for allowing us this opportunity to take the class to Chicago. Thank you parents for entrusting your sons to us for this trip. Thanks to my fellow chaperones, you made the trip so easy, and you were all incredible to spend time with. Most of all, THANK YOU Mrs. Perez-Gerhart for all your hard work. For all the hours you put into fund raisers, all the time you spent making arrangements, all the time at home you must have spent to make this trip a reality. Thank you for your infinite energy and cheer on this trip, you kept us all focused and energized. I can’t imagine a trip of this magnitude being successful without you.

My husband and I had a truly memorable time with these boys, (it was so sick, it was fierce), and I hope they enjoyed being with us these last few days. Please tell your boys that I said thank you for letting us travel along with them, and that I hope to see them all again soon.

I truly hope your sons had a wonderful time in Chicago, I did! Sincerely,

Mrs. Pam Tasaka-Mejia
